If it makes you happy...

Columbia, MD

Today is day one of the craziness that is summer tour 08. Which clearly needs a better name. Any ideas? Send them my way. My intention is to post an entry every day that I’m on the road. I’ll be traveling with Ingrid Michaelson, The Age of Rockets and Jenny Owen Youngs - who are all (if you don’t already know) HUGE cunts. So there should be some good drama. Band break ups and broken hearts galore. I do have a video camera with me and will be posting mostly videos. But alas, I have no camera charger at this moment. LISTEN. I’m working on getting that resolved and hopefully by the next few days I will have videos for you! CALM DOWN.

So today, here in Columbia, MD I played guitar with Ingrid Michaelson supporting Sheryl Crow and Ray Lamontagne. It’s a pretty big place, this Merriweather Post Pavilion. Bigger than I’ve ever played. And I have to say.. playing in front of this many people is most definitely FUCKING AWESOME. Mostly because the backstage has all of these things: 1 - a lake. 2 - hammocks. 3 - 2 MASSAGE TABLES equipped with masseuses. 3 - DID YOU GET THAT THERE ARE MASSAGE TABLES?!! In fact, once this is over (writing this I mean) Chris (Kuffner - Ingrid’s bassist and my man servant) will be going and getting our sore butts rubbed.

I did meet Sheryl Crow for a quick second. She passed by me and did the “you guys were great” thing that people do. But it seemed like she meant it. Either way, you have to have respect for someone who’s on tour holding their 1 year old and also a beer. Rock.

So there it is. Tomorrow morning I’m off to California for a wedding and then straight to Baltimore to join up with The Age of Rockets for 19 days. Hopefully by then I’ll have my camera up and running and will have lots of Andrew/Saul funniness to show you.

        Until then…
