I’ve been back in Brooklyn for about two weeks now and let me tell you, things have been very exciting. Here’s a quick list of what I’ve been up to.
1. Watching episodes of Lost and 30 Rock on my computer.
2. TEMPING: the worst decision that I have ever made and I’m going to try my hardest to never do it again. But sometimes you need to make a little extra money and get treated like shit. Also I was really bored with feeling good about life, so….
3. Playing bocce ball. Yes, I am an old Italian man.
4. Observing snails.
5. Writing songs for my next record that I’ll be recording in October. It’s going to be titled, “Jazz Hands”, and will be mostly me scatting over some really “hip changes”.
I think that about sums it up.
In a few days I will be taking an aeroplane with Jenny and the band to Beirut, Lebanon, to play The Big Bang festival, which I guess is a really big event over there and also is this a run-on sentence? Anyway, I’m pretty excited to be traveling to a part of the world I have never been to. Also, Jenny has been in Europe all summer and I have missed her like the desert misses the rain. Goods things are afoot, dear reader.
I don’t even know what to say about the past week of my life. I seriously want to be on tour with the Dave Matthews Band forever. I’ve never imagined myself saying that. I mean, I’m sure it would get old after a while. The crowds were not very interested in us and most of them were not there for our set (to be fair, there were always a few thousand. more than I’m used to for sure). But everything else was perfection. The sound was pristine. The crew went out of their way to shower us with praise and help us in any way we needed. The band was so sweet. Dave Matthews himself is one of the most hilarious people I’ve ever met and introduced us every night as “his new favorite band”. Gourmet free food every day. The list goes on and on
I stopped posting because I was just enjoying it so much and I didn’t want to spend time on my stupid slow ass computer. So now I’ll post some pictures and whatnot from the last few days of the tour.
